Emission Modeling
New facilities emitting air pollutants often struggle to fall under regulatory thresholds, such as Title V or NANSR, when applying general, source category emission factors (such as EPA’s AP-42). Air Basics is equipped to use chemical process simulation software to assist in developing site-specific emission models. These models use the analytical results of on-site samples and take into account the unique design aspects of a client’s facility, to generate accurate estimates of air emissions. This enables clients to show that their state-of-the-art facilities are operating within regulatory boundaries.
Old facilities, emitting small amounts of pollutants, may be subject to burdensome requirements and frequent inspections, due to inaccurate source category emission factors. Overdoing these operations can cost time and money for growing companies. Emission modeling can assist operators in proving their facilities emit low amounts of pollutants and may be exempt from many costly operation requirements. |
Our expertise in site-specific emission modeling allows operators to accurately quantify emissions and ensure proper compliance while minimizing expenditures.
